    As a cooperative, we value each member's contribution and operate on a basis of equality, shared responsibility, and mutual respect. This document outlines a set of agreements guiding our teamwork and decision-making processes, ensuring that the values and principles of Collective.ai are upheld over time.

    At Collective.ai, we strive to become a beacon of innovation and societal change through technology. We envision a new narrative where work harmonizes with personal fulfillment, challenging the traditional views imposed by a modern society.

    Our cooperative is a testament to the power of collective effort, where each member's contribution is valued and vital to our shared success.

    PARTICIPATION AND GROWTH

    • Diverse Engagement Levels:
      Recognizing the diverse needs of our members, we offer flexible participation models, including part-time and full-time engagement.

    • Skill and Growth Assessment:
      An annual review process evaluates each member's skill development and contribution, fostering personal and collective growth.

    • Path to Membership:
      A one-year candidacy period allows participants to immerse themselves in our culture, contributing ideas and learning from the collective wisdom of the group.
      We know that it is difficult to quantify hours and we are not going to use tools to count them nor define working hours. Each cooperative participant will define their level of participation, taking references established internally.

    FLEXIBLE WORK AND SCHEDULES

    Adaptive Work Schedules and Remote Work Flexibility

    At Collective.ai, we acknowledge the diverse personal commitments of our members, including their roles as students, teachers, parents, and more.
    To accommodate this diversity, we offer the flexibility of remote work, enabling members to work from home or any location of their choice, any day of the week.
    This flexibility allows each member to organize their schedule in a way that harmonizes their professional and personal lives, fostering a balanced and healthy work environment.

    Recognizing the challenge in quantifying work hours, we do not strictly monitor or count them. Instead, each member at Collective.ai is entrusted with the responsibility of defining their level of participation.
    This approach is rooted in our core values of trust and mutual respect. Our cooperative thrives on a culture of accountability and self-management, where members are motivated to contribute effectively while maintaining a relaxed and inspiring work atmosphere.

    Comprehensive Holiday and Leave Policies

    All members enjoy an appropriate holiday allowance, including 4 weeks of paid vacation and an additional 2 weeks at reduced pay, respecting work-life balance and personal needs.

    DECISION-MAKING AND FINANCIAL TRANSPARENCY

    Transparent and Inclusive Decision-Making

    Decision-making is a crucial process that ensures the smooth operation and strategic growth of our cooperative. Our approach to decision-making is categorized into two distinct types:

    Operational Decisions

    Operational decisions are those related to the day-to-day management and execution of tasks within the cooperative. These decisions are primarily the responsibility of the team or squad directly involved in the relevant area of work.
    Examples of operational decisions include sending invoices, scheduling meetings with clients, and making specific work-related choices that do not have a direct, long-term impact on Collective.ai. The key characteristic of operational decisions is that they are autonomous to the respective teams.
    This means that while all members may participate in discussions and offer insights, the final decision rests solely with the team or squad responsible. Their judgment and discretion in these matters are trusted, and their decisions are not subject to approval or alteration by the broader membership.

    Strategic Decisions

    Strategic decisions are those that shape the long-term direction and operations of Collective.ai. These decisions have a significant impact on the cooperative, influencing factors such as project selection, long-term project issue resolution, and overall organizational changes.
    In the process of making strategic decisions, every member of the cooperative, including both partners and candidates, is encouraged to participate in discussions and contribute their perspectives. However, the final decision-making power resides with partners only.
    This distinction is made to ensure that those who have a longer-term commitment and deeper understanding of the cooperative's values and goals have the deciding vote on matters that could potentially alter the course of Collective.ai.
    Strategic decision-making is carried out to preserve the cooperative's core values, ensuring its sustainability, and fostering an environment of mutual respect and shared responsibility.

    In both operational and strategic decision-making, we uphold the principles of transparency, inclusivity, and respect for the diverse viewpoints of all our members.
    By clearly delineating the responsibilities and scope of these two decision-making processes, we aim to foster a culture of empowerment, efficiency, and collaborative growth.

    Becoming a partner requires more than a year of dedicated work, a senior-level skill maturity, and unanimous approval from existing members, ensuring a deep alignment with our values and goals.

    Financial Transparency and Profit Sharing Open-Book Management

    All members have access to key financial information, including revenue, expenses, and project margins. This transparency empowers informed decision-making and shared responsibility.

    • Transparent Salary Structure:
      Salaries are openly discussed and determined fairly, based on role, responsibilities, and contributions. Regular reviews ensure alignment with industry standards and individual growth.

    • Profit Sharing Model:
      Profits are shared equally among partners, reinforcing our commitment to collective success. This model fosters a sense of ownership and directly ties individual efforts to the cooperative's overall financial health.
